IUCN and Germany celebrate 15 years of the Bonn Challenge

At the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30), global leaders gathered to celebrate the progress and future direction of the Bonn Challenge – a worldwide initiative to restore 350 million hectares of degraded and deforested land. The high-level event, “The Bonn Challenge: 15 Years of Forest Landscape Restoration for Climate, Nature & People,” co-organised by IUCN and the Government of Germany, marked a milestone ahead of the initiative’s 15-year anniversary and reaffirmed countries’ commitment to reaching 2030 restoration goals.
